Zhen He, a female public officer, remarried to a stranger for a birth permit of her second child. The end of the ‘One-Child Policy’ is a solution for this couple but just the beginning of their problems.
The original idea of this film came from a friend, about a more private, perceptual plight of her thought. When I studied the related subjects, I saw a more general strife-torn situation experienced by women. Therefore, I rewrote the whole story, with the aim to explore the dilemmas that Chinese women are likely to face.
