Ama Drime - Annual Mountain Project 2023

In this mid-August, three climbers, GU Niaoniao, LI Bo and ZHONG Wanghong made the first and consecutive ascents of Ama Drime I and Ama Drime East, mountain peaks that lie in the remote region of Tibet.

This is the 2023 goal for Gu Niaoniao’s Annual Mountain Project which has been rolling for years.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

Annual Mountain Project is my personal climbing project that is to select, prepare and try to reach a unclimbed peak each year. My full-time job makes me an “unfree” climber, regular trainings are well arranged, including running a large rock-climbing community, but limited holidays keep me in the city region most of time. Annual Mountain Project is my way of keep the passion of mountaineering by setting up a challenging goal, and I try to make each expedition worthwhile.
