ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Alfie Beard is a passionate filmmaker specialising in directing and editing. A graduate of the Film & High-end TV Bachelors course at the University of Derby, Alfie has created multiple short films that showcase a keen eye for storytelling and visual composition.

Director Statement

Safety Net is the culmination of three years of work, and showcases what our talented crew have to offer as filmmakers. Through telling this important story, we hope to change the landscape of academy football, and also show that the working-class have a place in the film industry, with voices that need to be heard.
