As pineapple rhymes with “luck” in Minnan language, it symbolises good fortune in Taiwan. This is why, in this short, the mentally-challenged man insists on bringing a pineapple with him as his older brother takes him to Taipei for a job opportunity at their relative’s factory. Will good fortune follow them through to the end? Selected to screen at the 18th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival in Hong Kong, this short presents an endearing relationship between the brothers with an unexpected twist. -Chris Lau.
