Unidentified Murder

1h 26m • Comedy, Crime, Mystery • 2025

Twenty-five years ago, a schoolboy named Ho disappeared mysteriously on Tung Tau Hill. His friends claimed he was taken by aliens, creating a media sensation. Now, in an era obsessed with alien conspiracies, various parties return to the scene for different reasons. An influencer stages a prank for clicks, but the script goes awry, leading to a real murder, blackmail, and even an “alien” appearance. Made on a budget of only HK$3 million with four locations and an 11-day shoot, the film uses a “story-within-a-story-within-a-story” structure and non-linear timelines to deliver a wildly entertaining black comedy—a Hong Kong answer to One Cut of the Dead. It revives the city’s classic black humor while satirizing the collective madness of the influencer age.
