自由永
In a snow-covered northern town, everyone tacitly abides by one rule: no speaking. He Yishan doesn’t understand why birds are allowed to sing, but people cannot speak.
Wild Bird uses abstract, dreamlike imagery to depict a town disciplined by silence. Yishan’s question—why birds may sing while people cannot—reveals a reflection on unspoken rules. With a lyrical, spiritual touch, the film evokes those presences that can be sensed but not uttered. If we could break free from our shackles like birds, perhaps life would truly touch upon freedom.
