Synopsis Catching Light is a hand-drawn animation about conquering desire. The story follows a girl who, in trying to capture the fleeting image of light, comes to question the reality of her perceptions, volitions, and desires.

Director’s Statement Drawn by hands, the animation is fluid and restless, at times with expressive lines running wild. The score for the film employs free composition techniques, where a large element of indeterminacy is embraced. Both are attempts to echo the grasping and relinquishing of control depicted in the film.
